Horn Butterfly Brooch

$125.00

This exquisite antique Art Nouveau brooch showcases a meticulously hand-carved horn figural insect, elegantly rendered as a butterfly. The piece may be attributed to either the celebrated Elisabeth Bonte (1897-1990) or the renowned Georges Pierie (1873-1943). Although unsigned, the intricate carving displays remarkable artistry. The brass knuckle fitting and C clasp on the reverse are functional and well-preserved. Measuring an impressive 10.5cm in length, 2.5cm at its widest point, and 1cm in depth, this rare gem is a distinguished addition to a specialised collection.
