Scrying Mirrors ‘Black Obsidian’

A scrying mirror is a tool used for the practice of scrying, a form of divination in which a person gazes into a reflective surface to gain insight, perceive distant events, or see visions of the future. The reflective surface, typically a black mirror, serves as a focal point to help the user enter a trance-like state, allowing the mind to project symbols and images, which are then interpreted for their meaning. Most scrying mirrors are made from polished black obsidian (a volcanic glass) or from clear glass painted black on the reverse side.  The surface can be flat, concave, or slightly convex. Some practitioners consider that concave and convex mirrors can act as a “portal” to other realms.
