Magnetite
Magnetite is valued for its properties of attraction, grounding, and protection, primarily due to its symbolic and literal magnetic qualities. Unlike lodestone, which is a rare, naturally magnetised form of magnetite, magnetite is a soft magnetic material and loses most of its magnetism once the external magnetic field is removed.
Because magnetite is ferrimagnetic—meaning it responds to external magnetic fields—practitioners use it as a metaphor for focus. Meditating with a piece of magnetite while focusing on a specific goal is said to help a person stay aligned with their path and avoid distractions.
These natural magnetite stones, measuring 1 to 2 cm, serve as effective talismans for an altar and are versatile tools for stabilising energy and manifesting long-term goals.

Black Obsidian Crystal Tombstone
$49.95A black obsidian artefact shaped like a tombstone, featuring a skull and crossbones, is often used for active protection, ancestral veneration, and as a memento mori, symbolising the cycle of life and death. Black obsidian is valued for its protective and grounding qualities. Its deep black colour is believed to absorb negative energy and shield against psychic attacks. For this reason, practitioners place obsidian artefacts near doors or windows to protect the home from unwanted influences. With a tombstone shape, the skull-and-crossbones emblem adds ritual significance and serves as a reminder of mortality. This concept, summed up in the Latin phrase memento mori, encourages reflection on the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth rather than being morbid. Often called the stone of the ancestors, this black obsidian tombstone measuring 8cm high, 6.5cm wide, and 3cm deep, may help facilitate a connection with those who have passed and may act as a focal point on an ancestor altar.
